The Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Lockset Brand Study is based on interviews with 4,896 customers chosen at random and surveyed about their experiences and opinions among the 6 most popular lockset brands.  The responses are used to score each brand on an index scale, which Lifestory Research used to rank the brands from lowest score to highest score, or worst to best.

The Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Lockset Brand Study found that the most trusted brand among people considering the purchase of a lockset was Schlage. Schlage generated the best reviews and trust ratings among the most popular lockset brands as rated by consumers. Schlage generated a Net Trust Quotient Score of 121.2 and the 5 Star Trust Rating among people actively shopping for a lockset. WHICH LOCKSET BRAND CAN YOU TRUST?

At Lifestory Research, we continually test new lockset brands as they capture consumers' attention by shopping for specific brands. We rate lockset brands on their ability to capture the trust of the customers they serve with this product.  The Net Trust Quotient Score is an objective ranking that identifies the lockset brands most successful in putting their customers first and earning their trust. We score for trust, quality, brand recognition, and other brand equity measures for each brand.


WHAT IS THE MOST RECOMMENDED LOCKSET?

The brands that were found to be most recognized in the study were Schlage, Master Lock, Yale, Stanley, Kwikset, and Baldwin. 

The America's Most Trusted® Study 2022 is based on interviews with people chosen at random and contacted between January 2021 and December 2021. To be considered, brands needed to receive enough survey responses to achieve a 95% confidence level with no more than a 2% margin of error.  The customer reviews of lockset brands provide insights into how shoppers see these top lockset brands.

Survey participants evaluate their experiences with products of the largest manufacturers in terms of market share and brand awareness. Questions in the survey assess lockset trust, lockset quality, positive and negative word of mouth, lockset brand reputation, the most recommended lockset, and other brand equity measures.  This work by Lifestory Research aims to understand people and their relationships with brands to identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen brand equity. 

The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® Study evaluates all types of home products, home builders, and home services yearly, from Home Builders to HVAC Systems to Tools to Kitchen Appliances. In the 2022 study, more than 50 product categories were surveyed. Scores are standardized across more than 500 brands and product segments included in the study and then rank-ordered within each product segment.
