The Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Mattress Study found the most trusted brand among people considering the purchase of a mattress brand was Sleep Number. Sleep Number produced the highest score and rank on the Net Trust Quotient Score among recognized mattress brands in the study. Sleep Number captured the 5 Star Rating with a Net Trust Quotient Score of 111.8 among people actively shopping for a mattress.

The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® Study recognizes the top-rated brands based on large-scale consumer surveys. The number of people evaluating each mattress in the 2022 study included 6,597 customers shopping for a mattress. Trust is measured through the Lifestory Research Net Trust Quotient Score, in which each mattress brand is evaluated in regards to trust. An index score of 100 is average for all mattress brands included in the study.

A top #1 rank represents the mattress brand that generated the highest Net Trust Quotient Score within the product category. Consumer opinions are collected over the course of the prior 12 months throughout the United States. Details of this annual research study are on the survey methodology page.

The America's Most Trusted® Study calculates the trust people have across 50 product categories from Home Builders to HVAC Systems to Tools to Kitchen Appliances. People taking the survey are asked their opinions of trust, quality, word-of-mouth, likelihood of recommending to others and several other brand equity questions. The data collected across more than 500 brands provides keen insight on how trust plays a role in the impressions people have of the most popular brands in the marketplace.

To determine the Lifestory Research 2022 America's Most Trusted® Mattress, the trust ratings for the most recognized brands were computed.  The mattress brands that were most recognized in the study were Sleep Number, Serta, Sealy, Tempur Pedic, Simmons Beautyrest, Stearns & Foster, Casper, Ashley Sleep, Purple, Leesa, and Spring Air. People were asked questions that range from mattress trust to mattress brand reputation to mattress quality.
