As America's Most Trusted real estate brokerage, HomeSmart obtained a Net Trust Quotient Score of 123.6 and earned the 5 Star Trust Rating among people that reported using the real estate brokerage. The annual study examines trust among customers who report using specific real estate brokerage while shopping for a home. The 2022 ranking is based on 7,244 opinions of people surveyed in the prior year between January and December in the United States. To be included in the national ranking, brands needed to receive enough survey responses to achieve a 95% confidence level with no more than a 3% margin of error at a national level.

The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® Study rankings are based on the Net Trust Index Quotient Score. Scores are standardized across more than 500 brands and product segments included in the study and then rank-ordered within each product segment. Study participants are classified and defined by three levels of consumer trust: Trust Advocates, Trust Neutral, and Trust Antagonists. A Trust Advocate expresses significant trust in a brand, whereas a Trust Antagonist vocalizes distrust.
The most recognized real estate brokerage brands are among the nationally-ranked brands evaluated in the study. This approach provides insight into how brands are seen within the real estate brokerage product category in which they operate and examine brands across industries. If a brand had a low brand awareness, these brands were excluded from the brand rankings.
If people reported using a specific real estate brokerage while shopping for a new home, they were asked questions that ranged from real estate brokerage trust to real estate brokerage brand reputation to real estate brokerage quality. Lifestory Research uses this consumer insight to assist brands seeking to understand consumer opinions, impact sales performance, and strengthen brand equity.

An index score of 100 is average for all real estate brokerage brands included in the study. A top #1 rank represents the real estate brokerage brand that generated the highest Net Trust Quotient Score within the product category. The America's Most Trusted® Study calculates people's trust across 50 product categories from Home Builders to HVAC Systems to Tools to Kitchen Appliances. People taking the survey are asked their opinions of trust, quality, word-of-mouth, the likelihood of recommending to others, and several other brand equity questions. The data collected across more than 500 brands provides keen insight into how trust plays a role in people's impressions of the most popular brands in the marketplace.
The Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® Real Estate Brokerage Study explores shopper perceptions of real estate brokerages and examines how each shopping event and brand encounter impacts customers' overall value perceptions of the real estate brokerage brand. In addition, the study addresses real estate brokerage shopper reviews and summarizes net promoter, quality reviews, purchase intent, and a variety of other metrics. The study also identifies critical service standards that drive higher customer experiences and the bottom line.
