The 2024 America’s Most Trusted Study
Originating more than a decade ago, the America’s Most Trusted® study was begun to support brands striving to understand better how trust plays a role when people shop for a product. Successful brands understand how consumer trust has a direct impact on business outcomes. The study has become the definitive ranking of brand trust and is eagerly anticipated each year, with updated results published every year in January.
Developing brand trust with customers is essential to ensuring that they return to a brand. It is based on their confidence that the brand can fulfill its promises. Customers are more likely to purchase or recommend a brand if they trust it. Brand trust can also build customer loyalty because customers are more likely to remain loyal to a brand they trust.
A new report of America's Most Trusted® is shared by Lifestory Research every year. Thousands of people are surveyed about their perceptions and experiences with different brands of products in more than 75 specific product studies each year. In this study, we measure the trust of brands when people are shopping for specific products using our validated Net Trust Quotient Score.
As a metric, Net Trust Quotient Scores (NTQS) are calculated by measuring customers' trust toward a specific product brand. The NTQS allows a product to be compared to its competitor brands to determine if it meets customer expectations. This trust metric seeks to provide consumer-driven data insights using social and opinion science research practices that use the highest quality consumer research standards.
